Introducing Lydia Oestreich

I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Costume Design and Technology From University of Wisconsin - Whitewater In May of 2022.

In March of 2024 I was accepted into the Masters of Fine Arts Costume Design program at the University of Florida and cannot wait to update my website as I move forward!

In my portfolio I have realized and unrealized designs. Realized designs include AntigoneGod of CarnageShe Kills MonstersThe Harpies and Signor Deluso, and Oliver! The Musical done in a community theatre, and most recently Spring into Dance at UF!

I enjoy building costumes and running wardrobe. Watching garments come together and seeing actors excited in their costumes every day the show goes on.

In addition to some of my required classes in my BFA course load, I have taken Intro to Metals, Rendering I, Rendering II, and Historical Hairstyling.

My current career goal is to get my Masters so that I can eventually teach Costumes at the college level. I want to do this because the person who influenced me the most has been my shop manager from my Undergraduate degree. Tracey Lyons, inspired me then and continues to do so now, I hope to emulate her in the future for other bright individuals in this field and give them the encouragement they may need to continue learning and growing.
