Unrealized Designs

The following are projects that I did for an independent study I did twice for rendering. The first one done in Fall of 2020 and the second in Spring of 2022.

Costume Design Class

Spring 2024 at the University of Florida

The Firebird

This project was to create a design for the ballet of The Firebird for the whole of the cast.

Design Concept

Prince Ivan Tsarevich will cater to "modern" military garments like those found in 1900’s photography and portraiture due to being considered fully human.

The maidens were once human but have been living in Koschei's realm therefore have less of a modern look.

Those in Koschei's realm are steeped in the lore of Faerie, with Koschei being based off of the Unseelie court but his minions being based off of actual Russian Fae lore.

Pop Icon Project

This project was to look at the brand of a musician of our choice and draw a single look for them for any album of our choice.

I chose Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine for the album Dance Fever. This was a concert look that I used various other looks as inspiration.

Design Studio

Fall 2024 at the University of Florida

The Secret Garden

Marsha Norman's musical The Secret Garden is a show that was another collaboration with fellow MFA designers and we agreed on a concept of memory, rebirth, grief, spirituality, and growth.  We showcased the memories in the costumes by having all the "Ghost" characters portrayed in pastel colors and the characters who are alive in vibrant colors.

The project consisted of 10 renderings minimum. This is my first time using Clip Studio Paint as a drawing program

The Tempest

Shakespeare's The Tempest done in a high fantasy style to a historical period of the late 1300's Italy, my fellow designers in this project decided that Prospero learned his magic through the earth and works with it whereas the Witch he defeated took the earth magic selfishly.

We had ideas of shadow puppetry for Prospero's Magic and bioluminescence for the magic of the earth (Like Ariel's).

This is the last project I did in school using traditional rendering methods. They were done using digital line art, watercolor paints, metallic markers, colored pencils, and UV reactive paints on Ariel.
